(25,657 posts)1. Last year I started birding. I saw this bird and knew
It was a warbler
I google black and white warbler and cracked up when I found out that was its name
I love birding so much!!

My Mom was a backyard birder. She had binoculars, a bird book and a notebook and would note the arrivals.
I used to put out seed and suet but that has become a bit of a task. I do still keep a little heated bird bath so they all have water over the winter.

(1,169 posts)3. Saw one in Fort Lauderdale
in February. It was so distinctive that I was able to look it up when I got back to the hotel. It was hopping up the tree trunk like a nut hatch. So I didn't recognize it as a warbler. What a lovely little bird! Thank you for the picture.
