But maybe it's because we discovered thistle socks. We put those out and have seen millions of them!

Some days I see more and other days less, but there's almost always steady activity at the feeder.
Maybe yours are holding out for more nyjer in the seed mix?

there was an epizootic that cut the numbers a lot, but the population seems to have recovered. Goldfinches still a good deal more numerous at our digs, though. We have sunflowers.
