We had a remarkable migration of Common Nighthawks here in Maine this week.

2. Common Nighthawks were common when I was a kid

On summer evenings, their calls filled the sky.

Today - it's remarkable to see one - but hundreds?

I wonder where they came from?

have a family here in southern MD, and they'll head south, to south America, soon.
