The blue birds have moved on for the year but I will have to put a snake guard on it before spring.

And they are harmless to us. They can be quite large, which is a bit intimidating. When I lived in the Texas Hill Country, I once found a shed skin of a king snake that was about 7-8 ft long

We had a 6 to 8 footer living in our chicken house.

It tried to eat a pullet once, but it was too big for it and it spit it out. The pullet did not survive.
