For the past week or two

we've been seeing at least 4 different Bald Eagles flying around the lake behind our house - two adults and two juveniles

The birds like to hang out across the lake (about 200 yards away) - sometimes together in the same tree, sometimes in others. I might have seen all 4 together at once - I've definitely seen three flying around at the same time (once 2 juveniles and 1 adult, once 2 adults and 1 juvenile). The also hang out on our side but always manages to land in a tree I can't see from my house.

Today I saw that one had successfully caught a fish (I missed the dive) and it settled on a recently fallen branch to eat.

The first pictures were taken through a scope with my digital SLR (the camera attaches to the scope with an adapter but it is really had to focus using the screen). The last was taken through the scope with my phone.

this early season. They can be here year round but I don't remember seeing them much in the winter. I had one walking around on the ice on the pond. It was funny, it would walk across then stop and jump on the ice. I wondered if it was hungry and trying to break the ice.
