(14,367 posts)just beneath an osprey pole and nest. The owner told us that during flight-learning season, every time she got too close to the pole, one of the parents would buzz her, kind of as a warning.

The tiny creatures of what seems just a few days ago, have morphed into sturdy young raptors, getting ready to fly. The mom is impressive in the way she watches over them and provides for their needs. Fascinating.

(141,926 posts)Some say, 7-8 weeks, after WHAT I'm not sure. Here's one: 'The chicks will fledge about 55 days after hatching but will use the nest as home base until they migrate in September. Young ospreys will stay dependent on their parents until the young are able to fish for themselves.'
