Related: About this forumOsprey's still HERE!!!
(Then flew off so I drove south on creek; saw him/her on other 'nest,' but in my impatience to get closer, s/he flew off. DARN!)
('Mine' will head to south/central America 'soon,' and as this is a juvenile, see scallops on wings, will take 'freshman' break there and return to this southern MD vicinity in later years; adults/parents do return to this nest every March.)

Thank you for all these fine postings - they are very much appreciated.
A Request: Sadly, I cannot locate your recently posted 'lighthouse'...
Might you please post a link (to it)?
Thanks again.

AND, a bit of osprey trivia, w/out pic:
They have reversible outer toes
sharp spicules on the underside of the toes
closable nostrils to keep out water during dives
backwards-facing scales on the talons which act as barbs to help hold its catch.
dense plumage which is oily and prevents its feathers from getting waterlogged.
