I always get a kick out of watching Buffleheads dive in the coldest water. Let's you know winter is on its way.

I once watched an eagle hunt for a mud hen. First the eagle came screaming in and landed on a boulder overlooking the lake with a bunch of mud hens swimming around. After a short time he began swooping down on them and they would dive under the water. He was very patient and kept doing this for several minutes until he was able to wear them down and grab one. I felt really bad for the little mud hen but that's nature.
