(12,744 posts)We lived just west of Piestewa Peak. They spent most of their time high in the trees in the neighborhood, but every irrigation day they came down and bathed in the yard. Shocked me the first time I saw one.

(12,018 posts)Were the trees by any chance palm trees? I know they love palm trees and saguaros.

(12,744 posts)I'm not sure what they were, but they drip sap and made a mess on my car. But they also provided great shade to the house and we were renting so we couldn't really do anything with them anyhow.

(5,050 posts)I read they are considered feral and in the article I read the original ones escaped from a pet store years ago,,, but there are flocks of them in certain areas around town esp Scottsdale.

(5,960 posts)on ASU's Tempe campus - I saw them less often at my house about a mile from campus.
Sigh - I miss Arizona!
