(141,926 posts)Some are tagged, not mine, but there are specialists in Montana who follow them.
I've not seen mine too much due to foliage (and of course due to 'early' geese.) They'll leave here around end of August/into Sept.

and as you say, maybe the oldest. Waiting for her to come back each spring is a tradition in this house.

(39,308 posts)I don't believe I've ever seen one here. I've seen plenty of hawks and falcons (including a Peregrine pair that nested on the roof of our building in Grand Rapids, MI many moons ago.)

(38,048 posts)at Flechers Flooding near Alpena. There were tons of dead trees sticking out of the water and the fishing was great. At least 5 or 6 Ospreys nesting then. I went back last year and all of the trees hard been removed. Saw Eagles but no Ospreys this time.
