Derek Carr no longer a Raider

This team needs a new owner, but unfortunately, the owner is the only one who can't be fired. Mark Davis is, and always has been, an incompetent everything. Inherited his daddy's team, and he's run it into the ground.
Derek Carr is the fall guy today, who will it be next week after the 49ers embarrass them at home?

I never thought much of Carr's talent and much less of his projected personality.

5. I halfway agree. Carr was never a 'great' qb..

but still a very good one. As we saw developing under Grudin, he does well with a good team around him.
Unfortunately, Junior Davis hired McDaniels because, god only knows why.
Josh McDaniels just destroys everything where he goes. Can’t believe the raiders hired that guy

I think he's a guy that you could stick on a team with a great defense and okay offense. Not going to make too many mistakes and can occasionally pull a rabbit out of the hat.

3. The writing is on the wall, but it's not really over yet. They're still paying him (to stay home).

The Raiders are such a clown show, it's possible Stidham and/or the 3rd stringer (sorry dude I don't know who you are) get hurt against the 49ers and they need him to play in the last week. That sort of cluster-f would be very on-brand for Failson Davis and company.

This is a very "be careful what you wish for" situation, which many NFL teams screw up, sometimes repeatedly. Every team that doesn't have a top 10 or top 15 QB wants to get rid of their QB in favor of someone better. The getting rid of part is easy. The getting a better new one part is hard.

What's the plan? Who is the new guy? Are you sure you are going to get him, that no other team will swoop in ahead of you? Davis and McDaniels probably don't have a good answer to those questions at the moment.

4. ESPN says "Most polarizing figure in Raiders Franchise history" ROTFL!

Suspect they are putting him in saran wrap, and on ice, due to the 49'ers defense coming to Vegas next Sunday.

For what reason? Ask Junior.

As for polarizing, seems that the writer is too young to remember JaMarcus Russell. and others.

Jimmy G. is a free agent in the upcoming off-season.

Brady? Get me a beer!

Carr played at Fresno State. Then again, so did Aaron Judge.

10. It was a financial decision to save millions. And every loss moves them up in the draft.

Raiders made the move to avoid injury to Carr, which would have cost them them tens of millions in guaranteed salary. By dropping him now the dead salary-cap hit on Carr is only $5.625 million.

that's what I get for not looking at PFT earlier, I guess. I wonder how Davante Adams feels now, considering he kept saying that one of his big motivations to go to the Raiders was reuniting with Carr.

Anyhow, IMO he was merely competent when compared to the other QBs in the league but we have enough teams now with less than competent QBs to imagine him starting someplace like ATL, IND, HOU, etc.

and comes alive, too. The Raiders picked up a washed-up Jim Plunkett for $1 and waiver fees and he went on to win two SuperBowls for them.

I wish Carr well wherever he goes. As long as it's outside our division anyway
