Alabama & Miami(FL) receive the last 2 at-large bids for the College Football Playoff

Notre Dame and to a lesser extent BYU were also in the running. Alabama wasn't punished for losing the SEC Championship and keep the #9 seed. The committee already set the precedent last year by keeping SMU in despite losing the conference championship. I guess head-to-head mattered when it came down to Notre Dame and Miami. Nice to see early season losses count for something but Alabama is in as the highest ranked 3 loss team. Miami gets in as the only ACC team and they were able to accomplish that without winning a conference championship.

I wonder if they'll learn they can't afford to lose the first game of the season, let alone the first two. This has become a habit for them.
