Doesn't seem to make much sense.

though Stefanki’s resume is not exactly deep. The GM they get is crucial — he needs to build a team based on what already exists and works with Stefanski’s coaching ability. And do it without ego.

No more bad drafts and trades. No more head cases. No more owner interference. And both — the new GM to be and coach have to work in an odd trio that includes a non-football guy in charge of “long-term strategy” — Paul DePosta. It’s a tall order.

A head coach should be more of a tactical person, an executive and an integrator.

Eric Bieniemy the OC for KC would have been a fine hire IMO. He has been overlooked for a second year in a row. The NFL has a problem. The Rooney rule isn't working.

https://www.si.com/nfl/browns/news/reports-andrew-berry-to-become-cleveland-browns-general-manager

Currently serves as Vice President of Football Operations for Philadelphia.

Berry was part of the Browns front office for three seasons, including two as Sashi Browns's right hand man and then the first year of (former GM) Dorsey's tenure. At 31 years old, Berry would be one of the youngest executives in the NFL. He's incredibly intelligent, embracing data as well as an understanding of the game and where it's going.

Along with Paul DePodesta, the Chief Strategy Officer of the team, a Browns football operation with Stefanski as head coach and Berry as general manger would be the first time since the current ownership bought the team that the entire organization would be on the same page.

This>> "on the same page." This element has been missing.
