Sword Coast Legends

I *really* want to like this game. I wanted to like it so much that I pre-ordered. Now I went with the budget build of 34.99, which isn't TOO spendy considering you can pay $125 for all of the DLC and DA:Inquisition.

When I could play it, making a randomized dungeon and a custom dungeon the developers made for headstart testing, it was kind of fun. It is based upon the 5e ruleset, which so far, is not my favorite. They have done away with THAC0 and other mechanics.

A massive problem with the game is that it causes video cards to overheat. Playing around with settings doesn't really help, it just makes the game look uglier and prolong the inevitable crash. If you are lucky, it crashes to the desktop. If you aren't your entire system locks up.

Bottomline: It is in no way ready for prime time. It was supposed to be released tomorrow, but they have pushed the launch forward to late October.

I'm glad they made that decision because it shows they have a commitment to making the game playable.

Good GOD the netcode and trying to play multiplayer (which is one of it's biggest selling points - you can DM vs. 4 players) is currently as stable and pleasant as a Florida maniac on bath salt eating your face.

Hopefully it will improve before launch.
