I just got Madden 20 after not playing a version of that since the Super Nintendo days.

I'm just learning the basics now, but I can see this is really going to be involved.

I'm more interested in the strategy, calling formations and plays, reading defenses and calling audibles, than actually being an ace with the controller. Controlling the players will be fun too though.

Watching the games drives me crazy sometimes. I've said many times that any kid that plays a lot of Madden could probably do a better job with clock management.

1. Maybe if Vic Fangio played a bit more Madden, the Broncos would have pulled out a win last night

The other team in the Red Zone with a shot at a go-ahead field goal under two minutes left and somehow the Broncos don't call a timeout to save some clock. Wind up getting the ball back with 20 seconds left instead of a 1:00-1:20. Sigh.

Glad you're enjoying the game, though!

2. Mike Martz was the worst when with the Rams. He was like our old Washington State coach

Mike Price. He could put together a good team, but couldn't coach during the game. When they blow a game we should have won, it's known as "Couged it" because of him.

3. I play NCAA 2014 in Coach Mode and avoid the Carpal Tunnel inducing manipulation of the controller.

You call the formation/play/audibles, snap the ball, then simply sit back and watch the play you called develop (or not) as if you were watching a game on TV.

4. I was wondering if I wouldn't end up just doing that after awhile. I'm pretty good at NHL 20

controlling the players, so I figured I'd give it a try. I always liked the hockey better than football as far as video games. In hockey, you can be instantly making a play with any of your guys in the game. If you play a team enough, you know which line is in and where guys are gonna be and what they will do. There is a lot more going on with all the players in football.

I was hoping to get the feel of making the reads and checking off to audibles and stuff like that. They showed us at least one NFL game with that camera behind the QB. I was thinking I would like that. You could be looking at everything the QB saw and was reacting to, our just watch what one guy does. The rest of the fans must not have liked it.
