Death Road to Canada - PS4 - Review

So... I got this game about six months ago, I think I saw it on an old episode over at Call Me Kevin's youtube channel. It was cheep, I forget what I paid but looking at the PS store, it is currently listed at $14.99.

Game play: The game is a great little time waster. Kind of an old style overhead shooter/beat 'em up (depends on the weapon you have). It also holds some similarities with Rogue like games but much easier (depending on the difficulty level/game mode, of which there are several). The basic story is that a zombie apocalypse has happened, you've heard a rumor that Canada is safe... So off you go. The game alternates between things that can happen on the road. These are menu driven events that may give a reward or penalty all in menus awith no actual arcade type play, or they could decide where the next arcade play space will take place. The further you go, the tougher the trip becomes. Lots of things to find and see, every game feels new.

This game is a lot of fun in short bursts... I play it for 30-60 minutes at a clip maybe 2-3 times a week, unlike some bigger badder games I'll play for several hours at a time. But there is still a lot of cool play here.

Bottom line: I like to have a few of these types of games on hand because I don't always have several hours at a time to play and these let me fill in the little waiting times in my life If you need a time waster that has some depth, go get this game.
