I couldn't play Stray but I got to watch my kid play it
Long story short: Steam works on my laptop but it's an older machine and my graphics card is just too out of date to make Stray work. I'm not going to buy a new console or new graphics card just to play a $30 game.
However, Discord works just fine on my computer. My kid has Discord and Steam and she was able to share her screen with me (also on Discord) while she played Stray.
It's neat. I'm glad I got to watch her play. Discord is amazing.
