What's your favorite type of camping?

Me, I can do it all... from "dirt farming" (dry-camping with a tent) to parking my Class A in a campground with all the hookups.

...also referred to as boondocking, is camping in your RV without hookups. No electricity, water or sewer connections."

I like backpacking with each person carrying a shelter-half. I prefer a group of 6 - 15. Wilderness improvisation is exhilarating but alone in the wilderness isn't a good idea.

...it beats paying $100+ per night then driving another 40 minutes to get to where you want to be.

is better). Car camping is a close second. And we want to try the RV thing; I haven't done it since I was a small kid.

But my go-to is a tent, backpack, and any trail that leads above the tree-line...

I go up to the Adirondacks every summer with my buddy, sometimes for fishing, sometimes for trail running, but we always go straight wilderness rules - 150 feet from water, running or still, and 400 feet from the trail. Usually look for a pond about a half-mile in, bushwhack, and then set up camp right at the 150 foot line. There's very few better things in the world than running a High Peak in the morning, catching a few trout early on, and then enjoying them back at camp, heading out to have a nip of bourbon and watch the sunset on the edge of a lake where the closest warm body is a mile or two away..

Me a tent and/or sleeping bag and no amenities.

When my three kids, all under 10 are there... a tent and a place with at least showers.
