Good meat, good experience, good friends.

A writer remarked about hunting: You will think of things during the hunt you would never think elsewhere; another likened it to a psychedellic experience; I think it is finding out what humans are really about -- and it is a positive thing.

Going to make a platter of venison nachos soon.

certainly is the case. During deer season 2011 I started a collection I know is unique in my family and is not likely a common collection anywhere else either. I started collecting homophones and heteronyms. Homophones are words that are pronounced the same but are not spelled the same. Heteronyms are words that are spelled the same but have different pronunciations. (discussed/disgust) (bass)

My brothers think I'm completely wacked. My wife just smiles when I announce I have thought of another word to add to my collection. (My self-imposed rule is to not look them up until after I have thought of them). So far I have 178 homophones but only 39 of the much more rare heteronyms.

if for no other reason than to record the ironies which issue from our thoughts as we watch and listen.
