How Miami plans on pisssing away more Tax Payer money: Build a Soccer Stadium

A downtown Miami soccer stadium could begin to take shape soon once negotiations begin in earnest Tuesday between Miami-Dade County and retired soccer star David Beckham’s investors, who are trying to create a new Major League Soccer team. Miami Beckham United and Mayor Carlos Gimenez’s office have set a private meeting to run down the investors’ list of up to 30 possible stadium sites, according to the county. Among them is the group’s favored location: county-owned land at PortMiami.

If its anything like the Marlins deal we'll have a stadium built for the twenty or so people who love soccer in this town:

That was to watch a friendly (exhibition) game between Brazil and Honduras.

Now it is fine to argue about how much if any public assistance should or should not be given to assist in building a stadium for Beckham's MLS team, but arguing that there isn't anyone who wants football here is just plain wrong.
