Our sons attended the same college, and were on the soccer team together for 2 seasons. One of our younger son's former teammates is from Iceland. Moved here when he was 9. I texted him to let him know we were cheering for his country. Some of these stadiums have enough seats to hold almost 25% of Iceland's population.
Another former teammate's dad is from Chile, so I have been in touch with that young man as well. He and our older son are roommates still, even though they have been out of college since 2013. They are all still playing The Beautiful Game.
We still go watch.
