I was watching a video of Dafydd Iwan and MANY others singing 'Yma o Hyd'. That song always brings tears to my eyes.

It's one of the best in the world as far as I'm concerned. I have some Welsh and a lot of Scottish heritage and I love both anthems. But have you heard the unofficial Welsh anthem "Yma O Hyd" ---"We're Still Here"? Give this a listen!

Here's an article about it: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/11/18/wales-world-cup-yma-o-hyd/

It's a good read and really explains how Wales is distinct from England. Wales was England's first colony and has been treated by England in a completely abusive way. It's interesting that the strongest and the most spoken Celtic language today is Welsh, despite being next door to England. Ireland doesn't quite have the same strength in its Irish language community.

We watched the Word Cup Rugby match as guests of a member of the Aberystwyth Rugby Club, they sang this. Wales played Australia then in London that year. It was an emotional anthem.
