(1,923 posts)I do it a lot. I cruise from Sacramento to Ely, with eating stops in either Austin or Eureka. I usually stay overnight in Ely, which is actually a decent size town.
I also usually find lots of bikers out there. And also north toward Elko, which is actually also a decent size town.

He said it was exceedingly boring as a high school kid.
Grandfather was a foreman at the Kennecott Copper Mill.

(12,653 posts)Driven this road many times from Colorado to SF. Last time was a April spring trip and I was amazed by all the families on bikes. Passed little groups with children and gear all along the way.
I'll have to watch full video to see if they found my favorite hot spring.

(3,583 posts)It's near the Nevada-Utah state line, a few miles off Route 50 down Route 487. Be sure to tour Lehman's Caves, they are spectacular! Also, drive up to Bristlecone. The scenery is awesome!
