I was worried about being obsessive until I read about these people.

https://www.cnn.com/travel/travelers-visiting-every-country/index.html
I'm what they call a "park bagger." I have one of those national park passport books and I try to visit new parks and get a rubber stamp to show I was there. "Park bagger" is a somewhat derisive term suggesting I might stop at a particular park just to get a stamp, even if I'm not too interested and don't spend much time. I do that at some of the civil war sites. All I need to know about the civil war is the good guys won. There are park baggers who have collected endorsements from every single national park, monument, historic site, etc. They're more dedicated (obsessive?) than I am, but there is another group that puts park baggers to shame. They visit every country in the world. They have money, obviously. Anyway, I feel less worried about my obsessive park bagging.

Coins, comic books, butterflies, toys, mugs...you name it, and you'll find a lot of people collecting it.
Collecting national park stamps is a great hobby, and it gives you a chance to see the country.
