Newark Airport is a Mess. Has it Become Less Safe to Fly in the U.S.?

Frankly, I wouldn't fly through Newark. It's very telling when air traffic controllers take trauma leave.

My wife is getting ready for her annual summer trip to WNY to see friends and family, and her old haunts. These trips comprise a treasure for her, and not being able to go would be a deal-breaker.

"Thanks" to the apparent drop in safety, she is doing Amtrak both ways. Vancouver to Chautauqua County in May, and back, in late August or early September.
