Went to Kenya last year and it was amazing.

While that's in a whole different region, I found Africa magical and life changing.

Take the cable car to Table Mountain and spend a few hours walking up top there. Not to be missed. We stayed at the Cape Grace hotel, right near the water and very comfortable.

Try to get to wine country -- very lovely vineyards and places to dine.

In Johannesburg, I highly recommend the Westcliff Hotel. An island of tranquility!

Be sure to get into the bush -- there are many safari camps, and you can fly to them out of Jo'Burg.
