Youve all seen an image like this before, of a Bible moved to a more entertaining section of the bookstore:
Ill admit: I laughed the first time I saw that (a long, long time ago
). But as I wrote several years ago on this site, its an asshole move:
Yesterday, Nancy French, an evangelical blogger on this site, posted that her daughter did something similar in response to seeing a Fifty Shades of Grey display. You can see the picture here, but basically, she put Bibles in the section marked After Fifty Shades/What We Recommend.
Hilarious.

(14,177 posts)I don't particularly like the bible, but if all evangilists had a sense of humor like that they would be better people.

(40,416 posts)In fact, I must disagree entirely with this article. I think such outreach is not only appropriate, but manditory.
Maybe it helps some people to think. ( one can only hope.)

as a service to the employees of the store. They're going to get paid to put it back. If we all did this every day those workers would be getting OT. Come on folks! Lets support labor!
Added: Jus saw the Hannity pic. Perfect!

(2,030 posts)Corporations have already slashed payrolls to where most employees are already doing the work of 2 or 3, and you want to make it harder for them? Can we come over to your house and mess things up, just for fun?
As soon as you start paying me to clean my house. Well, you or anyone else. It's their job to put stuff back where it belongs. Reminds of my dish washing partner complaining about dirty dishes.

(146,218 posts)Books are put back in the wrong places frequently. Reshelving doesn't seem like such a big deal.
