Religion and basketball

Though the Warriors likely were dissatisfied with certain elements of Coach Jackson's job performance, they most assuredly were nervous about the Rev. Jackson's Christianity and the tenets within.

Both the article and comments are revealing. This is a local Bay Area site, so there aren't any comments from teabaggers, yet. It just went Yahoo, so that may change.

Since this writer is the only guy talking about this, I would have preferred he not bring it up. Jackson has no issue, so why bring it to the attention of the religious right who will now make a martyr of him.

Something that wasn't mentioned is the fact that the Reverend lives in southern California and still holds services every week, even during the season. This is a huge logistics problem for a team flying around the country. It certainly takes a huge chunk of Coach Jackson's time that would be spent working with the team.

There are other factors that seem more likely than his religion.
