will work together to fight this guy and people like him.
But that means recognizing that there are religious people that are willing to stand with you and find him just as reprehensible and threatening as you do.

So how exactly is he planning on carrying out his Taliban plan?

(146,218 posts)while we have been looking the other way.
It's time for progressives and liberals to join forces against them and stop hating on each other because some people have religious beliefs and some people don't.

(146,218 posts)There is not "value" to his religious beliefs, but he is an extremist and not representative of anyone but other extremists.
So were the 9/11 terrorists.
Are you really trying to link all christians and muslims with these people?
Frankly, you are missing pretty much everything about the value of religious beliefs, because your lens is extraordinarily distorted.

(146,218 posts)but we shall see.
Pathetic? Queen of strawmen? You think I might be two people? You seem to know my caricature oh so well. Odd, that.
There is no doubt that Lane is an extremist who's agenda needs to be exposed and confronted at every turn.
If all you can see when you look at stories about religion on your TV machine or your inter tubes is the hateful extremist, then you are looking with blinders and only see what suits your very clear agenda.
Try reading all the stories and not just the ones that prop up your POV.

(146,218 posts)You have highlighted a small handful of people. That's a minority
Believers don't need to buck the trends and messages of their religions. Many embrace what they believe to be the religious tenants of social justice, economic equality and civil rights. Many take very seriously their belief that they are here to take care of the neediest and most marginalized among us.
It is you that can only see the one side of the message that is negative. What prevents you from seeing the positive aspects?
Whether you see the positive aspects as having value or not is completely inconsequential. Good people will continue to do good things for both secular and religious reasons with or without your support.
You will remain in a perpetual state of starvation no matter how much I feed you. Your mind is made up. You think you have found the one way. A clock who's minute hand has fallen off is never right.

(146,218 posts)You've been reading my posts for a lot longer than a month or two, so why don't you just be honest this one time. You are soon to be madly embraced by those who see you as an ally, and that asharpwone, is my favorite part.
So, you can decide which path to take at this point.

(48,181 posts)This is not a protected safe haven. The religion group is open to believers and non-believers and you are welcome to voice your opinions, whatever they may be, about religion and non-religion as you see fit. You do not have to meet cbayer's absurd and massively inconsistent standards.

(146,218 posts)Have a great time.
Maybe if you get a chance you can reflect on how full frontal attacks on religious people in general don't do much to further the cause of getting more people to join with you to GOTV.
I'll work on being right about more things while you are gone. I'm not at all optimistic, but wish me luck!
