Young earth creationist Ken Ham explains on Twitter why it was 'cool' for God

to kill everyone but eight people in the Deluge. It's a fairly good article. Here's the link:

As to my own feelings, a God that gets all pissed off because the things he's created aren't doing what he wants and then kills everyone in a giant flood, or sends plagues or kills the firstborn children of an entire people doesn't seem very mature.

I watched the movie 'Exodus, Gods and Kings,' and was struck by how God was depicted as a petulant child.

Seems to me that fundamentalists like Ken Ham are pretty dangerous, because if they get in power they probably won't hesitate to kill everyone who disagrees with them, taking Jehovah the tribal god as an example.

All of mankind is bad and that's why it's okay to kill off almost all of mankind in a genocide, including fetuses.

Wiped out the entire cities - men, women, children, fetuses, animals, etc.

Liberal believers get caught up in trying to explain that well it wasn't because of homosexuality, it was because of them being inhospitable to guests! WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER? Why did EVERYONE deserve to die?

That's why he's so violent and choleric. He's a war-god. (Half of the Old Testament is about the tribes of Israel waging war in the name of Jehovah...)

The earliest Jews were polytheists. It was only after the babylonian exile, during which they finally put their religion to paper, that they switched to monotheism. They did so as a form of repentance: Jehovah had forsaken them (and allowed them to be conquered) because they had worshipped other gods beside him.

There is actual historical evidence for that: There is a story early on in the Bible that mentions somebody riding on a camel. But back then, there were no camels in Palestine. The story cannot possibly come from that era. BUT centuries later during the babylonian exile, when the story was finally written down, there WERE camels in Palestine.

It it, The Mysterious Stranger creates a tiny town filled with tiny people to amuse some children. When the little residents annoy him, he kills them all, explaining that he can because he created them and they were of no consequence anyway.
