ISIS stones Iraqi woman to death in public for adultery

Extremists of ISIS terrorist group stoned an Iraqi woman to death on charges of committing adultery, local sources and eyewitnesses reported.

The ISIS-led Islamic Police [al-Hisba] detained a woman in al-Tahrir district in the city of Mosul, accusing her of committing adultery. The Sharia Court then decided to stone her to death in public.

“Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Zahraa mosque in eastern Mosul to witness the execution of the woman,” reported media activist Abdullah al-Malla.

Eyewitnesses reported that ISIS militants obliged a number of civilians to participate in stoning the victim.

“They called on people to take part in the execution, saying we’re in the holy month of Ramadan and we should show commitment to Allah’s Sharia and that the woman deserved death for committing adultery,” said an eyewitness, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"They called on people to take part in the execution, saying we’re in the holy month of Ramadan and we should show commitment to Allah’s Sharia and that the woman deserved death for committing adultery."

This is not "the phenomenon of ISIS". This is a decision to torture a woman to death with an explicit reason given that it's for a religious justification. That decision was made by ISIS ("Islamic...&quot and their Islamic Police.

Here's you, on the left:

The distraction is attributing mass murders by ISIS solely to religion. The distraction is ignoring the political clusterfuck that's prevailed in Iraq for a dozen years. The distraction is posting cartoons as if they distill the essence of your position.

Perhaps it does.

Either way, it's still bullshit.

Extremists of ISIS terrorist group stoned an Iraqi woman to death on charges of committing adultery ... The ISIS-led Islamic Police ... The Sharia Court then decided ... gathered in front of the Zahraa mosque ... ISIS militants obliged a number of civilians to participate ... we’re in the holy month of Ramadan and we should show commitment to Allah’s Sharia ... ISIS members are now heavily deployed ... Since the start of Ramadan, the ISIS takfiris have been observing the movements in the streets and looking for people who broke their fast ... When they find no offenders to their strict rules, they create some baseless accusations ...

This article is not about the Iraqi political clusterfuck. It's about religious people torturing and killing because they say their religion demands it. The article says so, repeatedly. They're not doing it to fight any government, Iraqi, Iranian, Syrian, Arab, western or Russian; they're doing it to punish Iraqi individuals. For purely religious reasons that they specify. And yet, here you are, saying that people should pretend this wasn't about religion.

The cartoon shows how you come across to people. It's not my 'position'; it's my reaction to your incredible posts. I didn't think even you would have been capable of denying this religious execution was about religion. You've reached a new low.

How about "civil war"?

This article would not even exist were it not for the political clusterfuck.

As to the cartoon, I really don't give a shit about how I come across to people who can not see past Islamophobia to understand precisely what is going on in the political world.

There isn't one. There isn't a political one, either. They did it explicitly in the name of Islam, and it's about adultery - not politics.

Terror, religious or otherwise, is an ancient means of controlling a population. One which ISIS has revived with a passion.

They did it explicitly in the name of Islam, and it's about adultery - not politics.

Yes, I see you are that naive, or are dissembling.

And I don't mean it was western imperialism that let the cats out of the proverbial bag and set the stage for ISIL's rampage across the Levant. I mean western imperialism literally compelled people to pick up rocks and bludgeon some poor woman to shit for violating a contract. You might think this is related to religion because because bludgeoning people to shit is the religiously prescribed punishment for violating suchandsuch contracts in suchandsuch a manner, but you're wrong. Because reasons.
