Please try to contain your shock and surprise. Bigots of a feather, ya know.

New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan will take part in the upcoming presidential inauguration of Republican Donald Trump.

"I am honored to have been asked to offer a reading from Scripture at the upcoming presidential inauguration, and look forward to asking almighty God to inspire and guide our new president and to continue to bless our great nation," Dolan said in an email to Catholic News Service.

Trump, a lifelong New Yorker, will be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States Jan. 20.

According to the president-elect's inaugural committee, other faith leaders who are scheduled to be present include the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference; Paula White of New Destiny Christian Center; Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center; the Rev. Franklin Graham of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; and Bishop Wayne T. Jackson of Great Faith Ministries International.

Into a Catholic cemetery fund, where he got it legally protected from being withdrawn.

A complete phony with a fake jolly demeanor to become popular and then get promoted away from the mess here.

Rewarded for getting the job done by hurting litigants more.

entered the priesthood after his wife died. But, Eastern Rite churches have married priests, some married converts have entered the priesthood, and there have been other exceptions to the celibacy rule.

It's just, you know, kind of a jolt for that to come out of the blue.

Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.

I know: too socialists and Jesus wouldn't approve.

That's all that matters to many (most?) Catholics and their leadership. It's a huge factor in why otherwise "reasonable" people voted in the devil.

then in the late 70s the church was not attracting young men called to the priesthood. so it was opened to the layity. Dad went back to theology college and was ordained in 1980. Bishop placed him at 2 churches in WI, then he retired in 1992 to AZ and he worked at a church there. He can do everything but hear confession. He will be 90 next year. He married my brother and sis in law and baptized all the babies in the family. Kind of neat, as they couldn't get priests at those country churches, they only had p.t. nun, who couldn't do anything. Also he was more than capable on counseling married folks. Had to take all the vows, incl celibacy, gets to keep Mom, but if she dies, he can't get another lady. She is 86.

Dad had practiced ethics, RE: church and state. But the locals here preached from the pulpit if you voted R in this election you would go to hell. So yeah, down on Catholics in 2016.
