Oh sorry, I accidentally translated the source's headline into the truth. Their actual headline was:
Stronger religious freedoms in Texas could boost Catholic foster care

Now Catholics can join other people of good will and serve Texas children in good faith, said Jennifer Carr Allmon, executive director of the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops.
...
Most Catholic Charities in the state had withdrawn from serving foster children, the bishops conference said May 22. The new law removes a significant barrier to Catholics serving children in the foster care system and will trigger greater recruitment efforts by Catholic parishes and ministries.
The bill, called the Freedom to Serve Children Act, could protect the ability of organizations and individuals in Texas foster care system who have sincerely held religious beliefs to remove themselves from actions that would directly violate their faith.

(67 posts)Religious bigotry is learned and starts early in life, at Church. Children raised by atheist parents are much less prone to become bigots, generally lead a life that is happier, less stressed by thoughts of imaginary spirits and death, and are more open to learning about and feeling compassion for their fellow human beings than children raised by religious parents.

DISCRIMINATION AGAINST CATHOLIC ADOPTION SERVICES
...
To be licensed by the state, Catholic Charities of Boston would have to obey state laws barring "sexual orientation discrimination." Because marriage had been redefined in Massachusetts, Catholic Charities could not limit its placements to married couples. Catholic leaders asked the state for a religious exemption but were refused. Catholic Charities of Boston was forced to shut down its adoption services.

In 2011, Catholic Charities affiliates in Illinois closed down instead of complying with a new requirement that they could no longer receive state money if they refused to place children with persons in same-sex relationships as foster or adoptive parents. "In the name of tolerance, we're not being tolerated," said Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois.

Is our most cherished freedom truly under threat? Among many current challenges, several state governments have sought to trample on the conscience rights of Catholic charitable service providers.
