(8,000 posts)going to a church service. They were married over 54 years when she was killed in a car crash. He was devastated and only lived another 18 months. I guess it worked for them even though they had their moments of discord occasionally.

When I was a kid and hitting the pew every week as a Catholic I would look around and see all sorts of dysfunctional families around me. The hypocrisy is one of the many things that has kept us out of churches.

(8,000 posts)I spent half my childhood in church, and I don't go now unless there's some good reason. At least I know all the songs by heart when I go! LOL!
Oh, and I know when the trumpers are lying about scripture! That's the real plus.
