'Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath' Turns Focus To Religion's Policies

https://deadline.com/video/leah-remini-scientology-and-the-aftermath-leah-remini-mike-rinder-the-contenders-emmys-video/

In the upcoming third season of A&’s award-winning docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, Leah Remini and Mike Rinder continue to dive into the religion they were once part of — this time, there is a heavy focus on the religion’s abusive practices.

During Deadline’s The Contenders Emmys event last month, Remini and Rinder talked about the new season of the series. When asked how it is to look at such practices now that they are out of the religion, Remini said, “We were, of course, aware of these policies, but when you’re in something that you believe in wholeheartedly you don’t believe a) that these things are happening and b) that the policy would be followed.”

Rinder adds that with Scientology, “PR is paramount.” He adds, “What matters most is how they are perceived by the world. If there is something that can be swept under the rug, it will be swept under the rug big-time.

Remini has done a great job with this series - it is no coincidence the CoS has launched a massive new PR campaign (TV network) to try and counter her message. It is truly sad though, seeing the extent to which the church has torn families apart and ruined lives.

Who is their deity? Wouldn't it be more accurate to call them a club? I'm just asking, but I really am not that interested.
