Vatican leaks: Pope denounces "gratuitous" coverage

The Pope has broken his silence on the Vatican leaks scandal, expressing his anger at the way some parts of the media are covering the story.

Pope Benedict XVI said "exaggerated" and "gratuitous" reports were painting a false image of the Holy See.

A series of leaks has revealed allegations of corruption, mismanagement and internal conflicts.

The Vatican has denied Italian media reports suggesting that Mr Gabriele, 46, had not acted alone, but was part of a group of 20 or so whistleblowers led by a cardinal.

Sorry, Herr Ratzinger, the days of hiding all Vatican scandals may finally be reaching an end, along with your papacy. (one could only hope)

It's not the allegations of impropriety that need investigating, it's the media coverage. Got it. I'm sure that's what Jesus would do.

Perhaps if his little city spent more time protecting children, healing the sick and feeding the poor they wouldn't need be up in arms over a man telling the truth about them.

Instead they spend all their time and money in their corrupt little schemes trying to regain the power they once had and covering up the evil that they have been creating since the Vatican was born.

The Vatican is filled with the most un-holy of people.

It's a little like a magician accidentally dropping a card and blaming the audience.
