Religion
Related: About this forumSomewhere, this very minute, a young woman is dying from a complication
of pregnancy. A woman who did not want to become pregnant, but who did not have access to the means to prevent that pregnancy or terminate it. Whatever minute you read this, this is true.
You know who to thank for that sad fact, too. No institution other than religion has set up or pushed for such rules. It is a simple thing to understand. Where Christianity is the dominant religion, the blame is on Christianity. Where other religions promote such control over women's lives, the blame is on those religions.
