Do Christians want non-Christians to NOT celebrate Christmas?

I am talking about those Christianns who are up in arms about Christ being taken out of Christmas. Those who say thet there is no Christmas without Christ. Those who think there is a war on the Christian Christmas and our country has turned it into a completely secular holiday.
Well, many celebrate that secular Christmas, exchanging gifts, having fun with Santa and Rudolph and Snowmen and all the other non-religious parts.
Do they want us to simply stop any observence of Christmas that is not Christian. ? No holiday off work for the non Christans? No non-affiliated tree lighting?
I mean there is a lot of Christmas without Christs. Do they want an end to all that?

I have met Christians who bemoan the secularization of the season, but they object mostly to the focus on consumerism.

There are some great traditions during the season that have little or nothing to do with religion, like the bonfires in Louisiana that light the way for santa. Never once have I heard anyone object to these kinds of activities.

Thats my opinion

Years ago I used to hitchhike. I thought it was great fun, and I never found any complaint from those who invited me to take a ride.

Read the stories in Matthew and Luke. It was not the religious who showed up at the manger.

Though actually it would at least make more logical sense than the more usual one of screaming that Christians are persecuted because *commercial organizations* don't use Christian terms sufficiently. Who cares whether a shop says Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or (what it probably really means) Joyous Shoppingspree? A shop is not a religious organization, unless commercialism is your religion. Which for some people it is, no doubt.

Certainly some people, both secular and religious, object to the commercialism and consumerism of the modern Christmas. What I dislike most is the expectation of stress, and treating it as some sort of job performance, that will be assessed: 'So are you *ready*/ *organized* for Christmas?' 'I've been under so much stress preparing for the Big Day!' 'I'm trying to get some rest before all the pressures of Christmas start!' Religious or secular, Christmas was intended to be a holiday!
