Do you pray during a crisis or do you just do what you got to do?
I have to say when I am in a crisis I just say Lord give me strength to get through this. Give me the strength to do what must be done. When my mothers surgery went wrong on Thursday I felt helpless and prayed my Heart out. She is doing better by the way because her doctor saved her life.

Glad your mom is doing better.

Pray as if everything depends on Great Mystery and the manitus.
I'm glad your mom has a good doctor and is doing better.

As to your question, I don't pray, but I sometimes give myself a good talking-to.

(2,514 posts)On the other hand, I believe prayer is a valuable part of the human experience. It helps to reconcile beliefs with the conditions that the individual or community faces.
Indeed, I find that praying during times of extreme duress (when life is at risk) is one of the most human things some one can do. It doesn't require specific beliefs about metaphysics.
