I don't think circumsision is bad, ut do it in a sterile safe way.
This is just fucked up.

(19,705 posts)But I would argue that it is not good, either. It's pretty much unnecessary at all. It is only because of religious tradition that this practice continues. I feel it is yet another part of religion that needs to be left in the past, where it belongs.

judaism has a high place for health. for instance, i get a pass from fasting on yom kippur because not eating will give me a migraine. also pig products are fine for medical procedures such as heart valve transplants or insulin.
so the idea of a ritual that violates basic health principles is not at all the norm in judaism.
but hey, there are wackos and nutjobs in any religion, no exceptions.
