Did kind of a Martin Luther-esque thing tonight

While I was traveling I got a letter over the weekend from one of the local far right priests in response to my letter about how I was no longer a Republican or Catholic and that women had a right to chose. This guy writes charming stuff like this;

Bishop Doran, while bishop of the Diocese of Rockford, wrote that there is a political party that exercises seven "unholy sacraments."

These concern: Abortion, homosexuality, contraception, divorce, radical feminism, genetic experimentation and genetic mutilation. These can be called the "sacraments" of our secular culture.

I got home from my trip today and the letter from the above priest was waiting for me. So I did a Martin Luther-esque thing tonight. I took the letter - unopened - outside and stuck it in a coffee can. Once it was in the coffee can I took the lighter I was holding and burned the letter. Made me feel good too.

If you get another letter from that priest, nail it to his church door. The Velveteen Ocelot Oct 2012 #1

Luther nailed his 95 theses to the Wittenburg church door on October 31 - it would be so appropriate to observe the anniversary of that event...

Some of that adhesive tack stuff might be a better option.

Still a good idea, though.

would have been Marin Luther-esque.

What you did was merely good sense.
