Protesting against Jewish institutions is not a valid criticism of the Israeli government, and I think we both know youre aware of that by now.

(426 posts)The Jewish students were not allowed to hold events during the whole month of Ramadan, because it might upset the pro Palestinian students. A peaceful scheduled counter protest , no where near the pro Palestinian protest, was forced to end early for the same reason. Jewish students were not allowed on the quad by the free speech coordinator, they were not carrying signs or flags.
Students were forced to remove posts from their personal social media accounts because they were critical of the protesters. Meanwhile, my daughter posted a video of the students in the counter protest singing and has been doxed, attacked and threatened on social media with no response from the free speech coordinator.
Palestinian students are not the ones being restricted on campus.

(426 posts)Her experience dealing with whats happening on campus is causing her political beliefs to change and is feeling the left is abandoning Jewish students. This may cost Biden the election.

(53,503 posts)Biden and Democrats have no control over the university.
The university is imposing restrictions while allowing others not to be restricted.
I would suggest the free speech coordinator needs to be challenged as being antisemitic.

Before about 19,000 graduates walked across stages on Friday to receive their degrees in smaller school satellite ceremonies, USCs Hillel hosted a graduation event for Jewish students and their families a moment to gather in unity amid weeks of campus turmoil over Israel-Hamas war protests.
A lot of people have been trying to take these joyful moments away from us, said Mark Rayant, 26, who was earning his masters degree in green technology. We get to come together as a community in a safe environment, in a healing environment something the university wasnt able to provide.
At USCs Hillel center, a post-and-beam building next door to the universitys Catholic student center, more than 50 students attended in their black robes and red sashes along with 200 or so family, friends, professors and classmates......
Dave Cohn, executive director of USC Hillel, acknowledged that the year has ended under a very, very dark cloud.
No matter how you view these issues as a person of Jewish identity or as a person in general theres no denying this depleted and depressed the atmosphere, Cohn said.
