Miu Miu Removes Obscene Jewish Star Dress Amid Social Media Uproar

In fashion, there are certain rules designers ought to follow, such as do not print slogans that condone drug use or the sexualisation of children. And do not, under any circumstances, place a yellow star anywhere near the chest of any garment.

While designers sometimes plead that such stars evoke the Wild West or varsity culture (stars are cute! stars denote achievement!), the Nazis made sure that from the 1930s until forever that they will be associated with the murderous pursuit of Jews in the Holocaust.

And yet, Italian fashion giant Miu Miu got it so hopelessly wrong by producing a dress in its latest range with a yellow star patch on the chest.

2. My first impression was sheriff's star.

There are also 6 sided sheriff's stars. I personally don't care if it was religious or law enforcement implied. At the rate the world's skin is thinning as a society we are in for deep trouble.

I have friends who are children of holocaust survivors, they see a world run amuck as well.

Are you serious?

You're going to stand with that statement?

Kind of like how the racist will tell you they have black friends

Why not focus on the big problems? Little things steal resources and keep people from uniting.

5-pointed, yellow star, 6-pointed, yellow star... who cares.

If it reminds people of the horrors of the holocaust, who cares about that either, right?

Just ignore it, raise no protest.

It's nothing, carry on, let them get away with it. Let them march with tiki torches too shouting "Jews will not replace us".

You might be more comfortable on a like-minded site because DU is not it.

Jews weren't the only ones murdered or forced to do slave labor in Germany and Poland.

"the world's skin is thinning", therefore "as a society we are in for deep trouble" and that the
world has "run amuck (sic)", but DU is not one of them.

With all due respect, I think for your sake as well as ours, before you invest any more of your time here, you might want to look for one of those others.

Keep that in mind with your responses. Articles about anti-Semitism will have a different sensibility in this group and if you continue with a dismissive attitude, you will no longer be welcomed to post here.

It looks horrible fashion-wise. Really? A yellow star? That's what you came up with? They easily could have put a "flower-blossom" made of yellow tulle there.

1. The style looks so shockingly amateurish.
2. The obvious Star of David implication that any adult would have seen immediately.
-> some rookie did this
