The local PD were out of their element trying to negotiate or rescue hostages from terrorists.

almost was on a plane that got hijacked, and moved 5000 miles from home.
Yet this is the event I remember most. I can still see the photos in the magazines, hear the news reports, etc.

(75 posts)8. As a military brat living in Germany at the time my parents cancelled my Olympic trip....
35 yrs later while visiting my sweeties barber shop I met one of the participants (PLO) in the attack... He was held in a German prison for a very long time... His family had relocated to my home town....

After 45 years, there is now a memorial in Munich.
