LGBTQ, Jewish and feminist organizations called on the DC Dyke March to apologize for their ban on the Jewish Star of David and Israeli flags, on Wednesday night.
While there was originally no official announcement, after participants inquired, they discovered that they would not be able to bring Israeli flags or related national symbols to the march. Organizers later wrote on Facebook that, "participants [may] not bring pro-Israel paraphernalia."
This controversy is not new, two years ago a similar incident occurred with the Chicago Dyke March organizers kicked out several people for carrying Jewish Pride flags.

(53,936 posts)I had planned on wearing my Jewish shirt to the Tulsa Pride parade, but got confused on the date. At this point, I may go to DC just to wear my shirt on the sidelines of this parade. Let them be "triggered." The anti-Semitism on the left is becoming more and more pronounced, and minority groups are leading the charge, which is beyond disappointing. I'll be damned if I tolerate anti-Semitism from the GLBT community!
While I was in San Francisco, I saw a memorial to a woman who had recently passed. It was filled with pictures of her and her friends. Some asshole had written "Zionist!" across a few of the people in various pictures, and a "Z" on pictures where s/he couldn't fit the word "Zionist". Disgusting! They defiled a memorial because of their alleged "concerns" with Israel, but, in reality, it is nothing more than their hate of Jews!
I hope protestors show up with Jewish signs the length of their route!
This is "pro-Israel paraphernalia" to those shitheads (The Hebrew word is "Love".)...
Incidentally, I wore that shirt when I went to Manny's in San Fran; my husband said the coffee sucked, but it was a neat little place, lots of books on LOTS of topics. While I was in the store, I got a compliment on my shirt.

(53,936 posts)The article (op-ed) is written by the two self-loathing Jews who are enacting the ban. The comments are AWESOME!

(3,051 posts)I could maybe get if they wanted to avoid the controversy as a distraction, but they are taking sides.
Of course, there aren't any open lesbians in Palestine, given that they get the death penalty there. So maybe it's moot.

(53,936 posts)Oh wait, you were serious?!
You and I both know anti-Semitism is only perpetrated by the right and any dissent is grounds for some serious "gentile-splainin'". It is even worse when it is another minority group who is the one spewing the anti-Semitism.
