(Jewish Group) Wiesenthal Center Demands Social-Media Platforms Delete Viral Antisemitic Posts

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is urging social media platforms to remove posts that use the coronavirus pandemic to promote antisemitism and violence against Jews.

“This is exactly the breeding ground for extremists,” Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean and director of global social action of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, told Fox News.

Its new study “Deadly New Virus Intersects with History’s Oldest Hate: Report and Analysis,” released in April, highlights one of many posts on Telegram, the popular instant-messaging app, that shows an image of the coronavirus with the words ”Holocough: If you have the bug, give a hug, spread the flu, to every Jew.”

“The coronavirus pandemic may be new, but Jews have a long and tragic history of being accused of spreading deadly viruses,” the report stated.

2. I agree.

I don't know what the moderation is like for many of those platforms, but it does seem some forms of bigotry are taking more seriously and others, usually anti-Semitism, Islamaphobia, and homophobia are treated as a mixed-bag.

3. I still can't for the life of me, how twitter allows rump to continue w/ his lies and insults, and

yet they knock others off for the same reason. Why does he 'get a break'? Why does he get to vote absentee and no one else? Why didn't he get indicted when he got nailed by who knows how many women he's molested? Who else did he pay off? Why only him? Seems like a ignorant one way street, in that some can get away w/ literally crap, and the rest get nailed. This is an ignorant abuse of power.
