Where are the consequences for DeSean Jackson's rant against Jews?

We are living in a moment of righteous awakening that has resulted in a long-overdue movement to end systemic racism and call out those who are not on board. We fire people over old tweets that do not live up to 2020 standards, even if the writers apologize or try to contextualize them. There is zero tolerance for hate, or even for insufficient sensitivity. Unless, apparently, the group being discriminated against is Jews.

It’s hard to draw a different conclusion from the saga of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson. In a series of Instagram posts, Jackson praised the noted anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group for its hostility to Jews. He also posted a text attributed — mistakenly — to Adolf Hitler claiming that “white Jews” are exploiting black Americans and resorting to blackmail and extortion to advance “their plan for world domination.”

Jackson’s post was not vague and did not speak in generalities. The text he shared with his 1.4 million followers touted age-old conspiracy theories about Jewish manipulation and encouraged others to study Nazi ideology to confirm that Hitler was right about the Jews.

For everyone who has ever expressed outrage about a public figure suspected of covertly dog-whistling to neo-Nazis: A star athlete with a massive following overtly praised, and tried to spread the teachings of, the genocidal leader of the real Nazi Party. He asked others to learn from a monster who also persecuted and murdered black people, gay people and other minorities. Where is the outrage now?

so whenever I hear/read the not-so-silent Nazi shoutouts I can almost feel their pain...that a supposedly repentant sport's idol is not admonished pisses me off..and I would like to suggest to Jackson that he google Freedom Summer Murders or perhaps stream Mississippi Burning...of the three murdered civil right's activists two were Jewish...

Oh wait, that was a serious question. Yeah, Jews aren't a "real" minority; not worthy of outrage, unless your political enemy is saying something you don't like, then it is OK to stand up for Jews.

As for DeSean, he has been rather receptive to learning, at least from what I have seen from other articles. The other Jackson, Stephen, is doubling down on his bigotry, after coming to the defense of DeSean. Though Stephen is claiming he was "misunderstood" in his "apology". I think he had a conversation with Rabbi Wolpe.

Sadly, some people who won't stand up to anti-Semitism or speak out against are Jews. You don't build up someone (a group) by tearing down another person (or group).

DeSean mostly seems uninformed, but IMO he should still be hit with a real consequence like a suspension.

Of course, there is also that piece of shit, Mel Gibson, and the lesser-known (unless you are a big YouTuber) of PewDeePie. Of course, anti-Semitism is excused by many, too many, on the left, unless they can work it into support for some other group. There is also the constant shell game of "I am really taking about Zionists" but using anti-Semitic tropes, one after another. See: Toronto restaurant owner Kimberly Hawkins is defiantly anti-Semitic as her business crumbles around her .

I am currently listening to a book on antisemitism and the first part (where I am) is recollections and essays from famous people in history on the issue of anti-Semitism. I just listened to the entire "J'accuse" by Émile Zola in regards to the Dreyfus Affair. There was also a piece by Maxim Gorky criticizing Russian pogroms and anti-Semitism (Russia and Germany are constant examples). Of course, I just discovered Gorky was a homophobe, not that spectacular for that time, but he advocated for death for gay people, which, IMO, flies in the face of his essay against anti-Semitic issues. And I listened to part of Jean Paul Satre's Réflexions sur la question juive. I haven't read (or heard) the entire essay, but the last part deals with anti-Semitism among Jews.

"Far from experience producing his idea of the Jew, it was the latter that explained his experience. If the Jew did not exist, the anti-Semite would invent him." Anti-Semitism is a view that arises not from experience or historical fact, but from itself. It lends new perspective to experience and historical fact. The anti-Semite convinces himself of beliefs that he knows to be spurious at best.

"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Yep. We are just a tool. A prop. A weapon to be thrust.

And bluntly, the 99% of blacks who don't share these absurd beliefs should also be outraged.

These clowns are getting a pass because of the bigotry of low expectations about blacks held by too many of our fellow liberals.

The host of some singing show (masked singer) was even worse.

Likened Jews to animals, etc, as his "original" thoughts.

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. JEWISH LIVES DO NOT MATTER.
