3. High holiday appeal

During this time, congregations make an appeal for contributions.

Please remember to send a donation to your local synagogue, your childhood synagogue, or your parents or grandparents synagogue! I can't afford much, but I donate every year at this time, to several Jewish organizations. My childhood synagogue is no more, but I donate $54 ($18×3) each to 2 synagogues, (the one I belong to and the one my parents belonged to).

I also donate to the Jewish National Fund, which sponsors and supports many remarkable programs in Israel, such as tree planting, funding research, loans and grants for agriculture and business start ups, building playgrounds and bomb shelters, to name a few. I did a virtual tour of Israel with them this summer. That helped to support tour guides who are suffering from lack of tourism.
