Are we allowed to ask for prayers for our pets?

My German Shepherd is limping, and due to the upcoming storm it is not possible to get him to the vet, and even if it weren't for the storms predicted we have a shortage of emergency vets in the entire region, and none in my immediate area. He is my companion, and my protector. He is not a trained therapy dog, but he alerts me when I am getting too anxious or angry about my life or the world in general. My psychiatrist says he is likely smelling an increase of chemical smells the human body let's off when blood pressure is rising. I'd be lost without him.

Also I have a a semi feral cat who used to live in a barn on the property that several strays made their home. I fed and took care of them all. Unfortunately that barn had to be torn down due to the fact it was very old and not structurally sound. We built a shed and filled it with straw and I make sure she has food and water every day. The other cats left once the barn was gone. I have done everything I can to make sure she isn't directly exposed to the elements. I wish I could bring her in but she and the dog hate each other and while she tolerates petting she gets wild if I even try to pick her up. She has survived cold and snow before, but she's a senior now, and I worry because of the extreme cold that is predicted. Please pray she makes it through ths time too.

Yes, you can pray, but since animals have souls, a divine spark, you should try Karadeniz Friday #17

And God said “I will send them (dogs) without wings so no one suspects that they are angels”

I believe in a loving and merciful God who cares for all of his creation. Healing prayers for your loyal canine companion and safety for your cat. Sounds like you have done what you need to do to provide shelter etc for the cat. She knows she is cared for. And prayers for you, too, BlueKota.

Thank you for your caring for your German Shepherd and your kitty. This weather is unnerving.

Know that I have stopped and added you and yours to my prayers for the night.

I have a cat sanctuary in Texas, and although our cold fronts are pretty wimpy compared to the ones in the northern part of the country, we will be having a combination of wet AND cold this weekend, and that combination is difficult for animals to adapt to when it cools so quickly. It was 72 today and it will be 22 by Sunday morning.

I have prepared them as much as I can. But there are seven kitties who are feral and they won't go inside the building that we have that is heated. They have many options, but it still breaks my heart. We also have some barn cats that were here when we bought the property. They also have options. I have been able to get three of the barn cats inside in the garage but the other three are not touchable.

So, if I may impose on your thread, my I also ask for prayers for my seven little stinkers in the sanctuary and my three barn kitties? And while we are at it, can we all please pray for those babies who do not have a place to call home? And those who have owners who won't take the proper precautions for them?

It's going to be a long weekend...

Hugs!!!
