Scientific consensus on Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW)
A new paper in the journal Environmental Research Letters surveys a large sample of papers in peer-reviewed journals. Among the conclusions of this paper is the following:
Among abstracts expressing a position on AGW, 97.1% endorsed the consensus position that humans are causing global warming.
climate-change deniers refuse to accept the fact that there is such a consensus. The general public, including most members of the US Congress, is largely unaware of the consensus. Climate change is like evolution in this respect: it is controversial only among ignoramuses and those who know better but won't admit it in public.
